Jewish Weddings, Baby Namings, Funeral Officiation and a Whole Lot More in Chicagoland and Beyond

  • Mazel tov! I would be honored to officiate at your wedding. We would meet several times — in person or virtually — during the months preceding the big day, so your time under the chuppah feels genuinely personal.

  • I’ll help you choose the perfect name for your child and will lead a meaningful ceremony, at home or elsewhere, that is inclusive and joyful. I have worked with several local mohels.

  • I will meet with the ailing person, as well as your family, offering pastoral counseling and prayers appropriate for the situation. I have close relationships among Chicago’s Jewish funeral services. I am available as well for stone dedications.

  • I will help you determine whether conversion is the right path for you and, if so, will guide you through the process.

  • Folk-Rock-Torah combines my love of Torah with my love of music. Each Folk-Rock-Torah poem describes a Torah portion or Jewish holiday, while also hinting at a rock song. As I recite the poem, folks try to guess the song. I then play the song on Youtube or Spotify. I do this each week at my congregation and would love to do a Zoom Folk-Rock-Torah program for your community.

Shalom! I’m Rabbi Jeffrey Weill. I’ve proudly served Ezra-Habonim, the Niles Township Jewish Congregation in Skokie for more than a decade. I received rabbinic ordination in 2007 from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. In addition to “rabbi-ing,” I love walking in local nature reservations with my family and drumming with our synagogue band, Koleinu, as well as with my rock band, The Night Owls.
